How much does stump removal cost?
Most single residential stumps range from $180 to $350 depending on diameter, species, and access. You always get a firm written price after our free on-site assessment — no hourly billing, no surprises. Multi-stump jobs get automatic volume discounts.
What is the difference between stump grinding and stump removal?
Grinding chews the stump into wood chips 6–12 inches below ground level — it is faster and cheaper, and perfect for lawns. Full removal excavates the entire stump and root ball, which is best when you are building, adding a pool, or planting something new in the exact spot.
Can your equipment fit through my gate or into my backyard?
Yes. Our compact grinders are as narrow as 26 inches and fit through standard gates and side yards. For tight or elevated spots, we have hand-portable equipment that gets the job done without damaging fences, decks, or landscaping.
What happens to the wood chips afterward?
Your choice. We can haul the chips away for a small fee, or leave them behind — they make excellent free mulch for garden beds. Either way, we rake and blow the work area clean before we leave.
Can I replant a tree where the stump was ground?
Grinding leaves the root system in place, so planting a new tree directly in the same hole is possible but not always ideal. If you want to replant in the exact spot, we recommend full stump & root removal — tell us during your quote and we will plan for it.
